Betty "June" Gordon

June Gordon, 82, of Park Hills, passed away December 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born September 5, 1933, in Ste. Genevieve, to the late Charles and Gertie (Cornill) Archambo. June was a member of the Three Rivers Baptist Church, and for twenty years, she was a nursery teacher at the Esther Baptist Church, where they called her granny June. She always had a new book to read and her greatest accomplishment, was being a beloved mother who also adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

            She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, LeeRoy Gordon; grandson, Zac McDowell; brother, Bill Archambo; three sisters, Dot Rapert, Ruth Stam, and Shelby Holt; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Watts.

 

            June is survived by eight children, Brenda Joplin of Columbia, Dennis (Elaine) Gordon of Park Hills, Betsy (David) Wright of Farmington, Joan (Dan) Govero of Columbia, Jane (John) McDowell, Bonnie Wofford, Robert (Dee) Gordon, and Tamera Gordon all of Park Hills; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Peyton and Donna Helms. The family would also like to thank Camelot S.C.U. and Serenity Hospice for their special care and compassion.

 

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be directed to the Zac McDowell Scholarship Fund.
