Betty Jean Mathes formerly of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on January 29, 2019 in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 80 years. She was born on January 19, 1940 in West Fork, Missouri the daughter of the late Delbert and Thelma (Bowers) Mathes.
Betty is survived by a brother, James Mathes and wife, Barbara of Black, Missouri and two sisters, Glenda Grommet of Ironton, Missouri and Patsy Broomfield and husband, Michael of Crystal City, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Mary Mathes and a brother-in-law, Terry Miller as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers; Verlon Mathes, Stanley Mathes, Edwin Mathes, and Billy Joe Mathes, her sister; Janet Miller, and her brother-in-law; David Grommet.
Betty was a graduate of Centerville High School. She worked as a legal secretary for Interco and International Shoe. She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Betty was a world traveler. She loved art and was a member and...
