Beverly Ann Akers

Bev Akers, age 82, of Bonne Terre passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Wednesday, November 6, 1935 in Wilsonville, IL. to the late George and Eloise Teakert.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son John “J.” Akers. 

Bev was an RN for over 50 years and was of Lutheran faith.  She loved to paint and was fond of German Shepherds especially “Jay” who was always by her side.

Bev is survived by her loving husband Kenny Akers; children, Tim (Cindy) Held, Patti Engelbach, Sue Held, Scott (Paula) Held; step-children, Michelle (Ben) Dicken and Keith (Amy) Akers; grandchildren, Zachary, Paige, Kaylee, Teresa, Matt, Brandon, Amanda, Amelia, Amber, Lauren, Danielle, Julia, Esme and Ireland; great-grandchildren, Logan and Sophie; three sisters, Shirley (Bob) Link, Judy Boyd and Diana Lyons all survive.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge from 11:30 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating.  Burial to follow at Parkview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project Purple (Pancreatic Cancer), Central Institute for the Deaf or Kindred Hospice.
