Billy "Bill" Blackburn, 85, of Bonne Terre, passed away September 6, 2022 at his residence in Nixa. He was born July 29, 1937 in Cane Creek, and his parents were the late Leonard Robert and Beulah (Revelle) Blackburn. Bill graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1956, then served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 ½ years. He later retired from Williams Patent Crusher and Pulverizer Company in Bonne Terre as plant manager. He enjoyed serving his community where he volunteered for the Parkland Hospital for 12 years, Elvin’s Food Pantry for 20 as well as, the election pole in Desloge. Bill was a resident of Bonne Terre for 47 years until moving to Nixa and loved spending time on his farm gardening, but most of all, he loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Leonard Blackburn; siblings, Gene Blackburn, Evelyn Swan and Glenna Boshears.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ginger (Whitt) Blackburn; one daughter, Cheryl Jean Lotz and husband Jeff; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the service time at 2:00 PM. The family request the dress attire to be casual. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Elvin’s Food Pantry.
