Bill Henson

Billie Dale “Bill” Henson, 76, of Farmington passed away October 31, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. He was born July 24, 1947 in Ironton to the late Elijah and Vellmo (Asher) Henson. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army, in the 11th armored cavalry unit in the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1968. He was the Commander of the Leadington VFW Post #5741. He was a member of the American Legion Post 416 of Farmington, Disabled American Veterans, Pendleton Masonic Lodge #551 and the Wounded Warrior Project. He enjoyed doing volunteer work, especially with the VFW. Bill also enjoyed hunting, being outside, and taking care of his horses.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Jewell Henson, Edna Jones and Wanda Hopkins.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (Gamblin) Henson; three children, Brant (Natalie) Henson, Bobbi (Renae) Henson and Justin (Staci) Henson; thirteen grandchildren, Skyler Henson, Logan Henson, Shaylin Ryder, Kaytlin Henson, Teagan Ryder, Caelin Niebergall, Chloe Crouch, Taylor Henson, Macie Niebergall, Josie Crouch, Josiah Henson, Haylee Henson, Christian Crouch; sister-in-law, Margaret Henson. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to TSC Alliance.
