Bill Tedford Sr.

Billie Gene Tedford Sr. of Ironton, Missouri passed away December 16, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 4, 1940 in Saline County, Illinois and was raised by his grandparents, Richard and Orpha Byrd. On November 13, 1966 he was united in marriage to Della Lou Wisdom who preceded him in death on January 9, 2011. To this union seven children were born: Billy Tedford Jr. who preceded him in death, Orpha Tedford of Ironton, James Tedford of Ironton, Richard Tedford (Rebecca) of Pilot Knob, Stacy Tedford of Ironton, Glen Tedford of Ironton, and Tonya Tedford of Arcadia. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his wife; Della, his son; Billy, daughter-in-law; Heather Tedford, and two grandsons; Jerry Law and James Wyatt Tedford. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and later he served in the National Guard. He worked several jobs throughout the years to provide for his family. Bill worked at Brown Shoe Company, and on many local farms helping with the livestock, crops, putting up hay and anything else that was needed in the day-to-day life on a farm. He loved to fish, and he enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, squirrel, and rabbits. He liked to ride 4 wheelers and go for rides in the side by side. He also liked horses and enjoyed riding. Overall, Bill just enjoyed being outdoors but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Zach Tedford officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Bill will be laid to rest next to his wife in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park following the funeral service.
