Bobby Tiefenauer, known to friends and family simply as Bob, passed away peacefully at his home in Desloge on January 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on February 22, 1940, in Desloge, Bob was the cherished son of the late Russell “Sieke” and Geneva (Hudson) Tiefenauer.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). After his military service, he worked for Meramec Mining Company and later at 7-Eleven. A devoted community member, he was also a proud volunteer firefighter with the Desloge Fire Department for an impressive 27 years.

He was a true family man who loved nothing more than cheering on his grandchildren at their ball games. Bob was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge, where he built many lasting friendships. Bob also coached Desloge Community Baseball for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 49 years, Hilda (Furry) Tiefenauer; brother, Ronald Tiefenauer and daughter in-law, JoElla (Rasnic) Tiefenauer.

Bob is survived by his son Steven Tiefenauer and wife Paula; daughter, Lana Mitchell and husband Randall; four grandchildren, Brandee (Brian) Maddox, Spencer Tiefenauer, Derek (Miranda Kerns) Mitchell and Seth (Madison) Tiefenauer; five great-grandchildren, Kloey Kelley, Evie Maddox, Riley Kelley, Uriah Tiefenauer and Eleanor Tiefenauer; brothers, Donald and Mike Tiefenauer; sisters, Janet Waller and Vicky Sansoucie; special friends, Carol Peery, Wilma LaBrot, Kenny Hawkins, Jim Loyd, Tammy Ortmann and Mary Mossman; several nieces, nephews other family members and friends, also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM until Fireman service of 11:45 AM.  The funeral service will immediately follow.  Dr. Bradford Laubinger will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.
