Brenda Yount

Brenda Sue Yount, 73, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at Community Manor. Born on July 15, 1952, in Bonne Terre, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Charles “Buster” and Mary Lou (Bleckler) Pace. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. A devoted member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Park Hills, Brenda found joy in teaching Sunday School and nurturing the spiritual growth of others. Her career as a secretary in the public school system laid the foundation for her later role as a bookkeeper at the Daily Journal, where she became a beloved member of the team for over 15 years. Throughout her life, Brenda was actively involved in the Relay For Life cancer walk, demonstrating her commitment to the fight against cancer and supporting those in need.

Throughout her life, Brenda found joy and companionship in her beloved Dachshund puppies. She devoted time to caring for them, creating a nurturing environment filled with love and warmth. Her passion for animals was a testament to her caring nature and ability to connect with all living beings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jimmy “Jim” Yount for 52 years; and one sister, Shawn DeBlois. Brenda’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Yount, Ken Yount and wife Alicia; five grandsons, Karter, Brendon, Braydon, Baron and Bode Yount; one sister, Dianna Monie and husband Joe; nephews, Brandon Monie and wife Elise, Barrett Monie, along with several other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM. Pastor Curt Gwartney will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be directed in honor of Brenda’s memory to AWANAS at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church.
