Carol Gray

Listen to Obituary

Carol Sue (Myers) Gray departed this life peacefully in her sleep for her Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at home with her loving family. She was born on Friday, November 28, 1947, to the late Vernon and Opal (Tripp) Myers in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Vick Gray, and one (1) brother, Jerry Myers; five (5) brothers in law, Gerald Gray, William Gray, Wallace Gray, Frank Gray and Kenny Gray; two (2) sisters in law, Marge Gray and Linda Carol Lawrence.

Carol enjoyed the time she spent with her husband working hay, cutting grass and playing with her grandbabies in rural Bonne Terre, MO. Carol was a wonderful homemaker, cook and avid game player. She was a member of the Shriners Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Anyone who knew her would tell you how sweet and loving she was, with the biggest heart. Carol was a cherished member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Farmington, MO.

Carol loved having family gatherings out at the farm, complete with fish frys and playing music together. Her favorite job and pastime was the role of Grammy and Gigi. Her face would just light up when she would see her babies, whether on facetime or in person. Carol will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was the center and glue of her family; always there for everyone as a mom figure or an extra grandma.

Carol is survived by two (2) sons, Scotty (wife Dana) Gray and Ricky (wife Becky) Gray; five (5) grandchildren and two (2) step grandchildren, Andrew (wife Ariel) Gray, Kaylee Gray, Avary Gray, Libby Gray, Shelby Girgis and Ziva Girgis; six (6) great grandchildren, Amara Maldonado, Dallas Vanskiver, Barrett Stephenson, twins Isla and Opal Gray and baby Maldonado (due in April 2027); two (2) brothers, Vernon (Butch) (wife Barb) Myers and Gary Myers; three (3) brothers in law, Roy Gray, Bob (wife Madeline) Gray, Jeff (wife Winda); and three (3) sisters in law, Sandra (husband Tommy) Brooks, Brenda Gray and Rhonda Gray (Mike Umfleet); bonus daughter Diana McConnell; bonus grandson Ryne Sherffius and bonus great granddaughter Saylor Scherffius; as well as many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
