Carol Sue Puder

Carol Sue Puder, 82, of Ferguson, formerly of Bonne Terre, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at St. Joseph SSM Hospital in St. Charles, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Tuesday, November 4, 1941 in Bonne Terre, to the late Howard and Merle (Sumpter) Hawkins. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ferguson. Sue retired after 24 years of dedication as a Military Recorder with the Federal Government.

Sue loved her family and grandchildren, playing bingo, going to the casino, staying home, and raising her children was her number one priority. In her younger days she enjoyed playing volleyball and soccer. She was an avid Law & Order fan, and liked watching western movies.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Puder; siblings, Jackie Hawkins, Maxine Hawkins, Jim Hawkins, Doris Foster, Howard “Bud” Hawkins and Peggy Guidorzi.

Sue is survived by her loving children; Kimberly (Brian Mazdra) Mantle, Tamera Ott, Donald (Julie) Puder and Robert (Theresa) Puder; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Gregory, Melissa, William, Tori, Hannah, Adam, Austin, Alex, Steven, and Kyle; six great grandchildren; daughter in-law, Virginia Boydte; brother, Frank (Stella) Hawkins; sister, Beverly Finley; dear friends, Judith Puder, Abigail Lang, Nicole (Jason) Berscheid. Sue will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume Monday, December 18, 2023 at 9:00 AM until service time of 10:00AM with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery.
