Carol Sue Weems

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Sue Weems, 82, of Farmington, formerly a resident of Bonne Terre. Carol was born on Saturday, December 5, 1942, in Ironton, Missouri. Carol left this world peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at St. Louis de Greeff Hospice House. A devoted mother, grandmother, and respected educator. Carol's legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Medford D. and Eva Virginia (Riehl) Robbins; sister, Virginia Ann Robbins, brother, William (Bill) Robbins.

Carol began her esteemed career in education in 1964 at Bonne Terre High School, where her passion for teaching flourished. After taking a break from 1967 to 1987 to dedicate her time to motherhood and assist in the family insurance and real estate business, Carol returned to the classroom and began her impactful tenure at North County. In 1997, she became the principal of North County Intermediate School, a role she embraced until her retirement in 2005. Even after her retirement, Carol continued to contribute to the field she loved as the Coordinator of Instruction at North County, a position she held part-time until fully retiring in 2015.

In her leisure time, Carol found joy in reading, cooking, and nurturing her beautiful yard, all of which reflected her vibrant spirit. She loved to travel, exploring new places and savored every moment spent over delicious lunches with friends and family. Her joyful laugh and kind heart will be profoundly missed, yet cherished in the memories of those who knew her. Carol is survived by her beloved daughters, Beth Allen, and her husband, Ron Allen; Cathy Payne and her husband Russell; father to her children, Roger Weems; two grandchildren, Jared (Alyssa) McFarland, and Samantha Payne; three step grandchildren, Toby (Nicole) Allen, Chad (Dawn) Allen, Erica (Corey) Clark; and four great step grandchildren, each of them carries forward her legacy of love and kindness. She also leaves behind her brothers, Dwight (Sharon) Robbins, Harry (Daloris) Robbins; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In honor of Carol’s life, a Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at 20 Park Ave. Cornerstone facility at Centenary United Methodist Church in Bonne Terre. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their cherished memories and celebrate the beautiful life Carol led.

As we say goodbye to Carol Sue Weems, let us remember her not with sadness, but with the joy she brought into our lives and the countless lives she touched. In her honor, we encourage all to engage in acts of kindness, volunteerism, and appreciation for the moments spent together, just as she would have wished. Rest in peace, dear Carol—you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
