Carolyn Thomas

Carolyn Jane Thomas, 83, of Terre Du Lac, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Hillcrest Care Center in DeSoto.

Carolyn was born on Saturday, August 22, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Charles and Melva (Fite) Nelson. She dedicated her career to education, retiring after many years as an Early Childhood teacher with the Affton/Lindbergh School District. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Carolyn found great joy in caring for her family. She especially loved hosting holiday gatherings and cooking for those she loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting. She cherished traveling with her husband Bill, sharing a love for the outdoors, entertainment, and shopping, often enjoying RV life together at Treasure Lake RV Resort. Above all, Carolyn deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenny Thomas; and her sister, Jeanne Northcutt.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, William “Bill” Thomas; daughters, Sandra (Gary) McGlone and Terri (Wil Schirer) Clatto; grandchildren, Kenny, Mark, and Jonathan; and siblings, Kenny (Irene) Nelson and Janet Seigo.

A memorial visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
