Charles "Pete" Brewen

Charles “Pete” Brewen, age 91, of Valles Mines, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Pete was born on Monday, October 31, 1932, in Elvins to the late Charles E. Brewen and Alice O. (Seal) Kiger.

Pete was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church in Bonne Terre where he served as a Deacon, the United Auto Workers and Samaritan Masonic Lodge #424 in Bonne Terre. Pete proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He went on and had a successful career at Chrysler and retired after 28 years. In Pete’s past-time he loved going hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Ann Brewen; step-father, Glenwood Kiger; brother, William Kiger; sister, Leanna Cannell.

Pete married the love of his life of 71 years, Ruth (Stricklin) Brewen; beloved children, Cindy (Tom) Cox, Teresa (Ed) White, Brian (Kathy) Brewen, Lance (Susie) Brewen, Bruce (Sherry) Brewen; twelve grandchildren, Lisa (Doug) Skaggs, Jennifer (Darrell) Biri, Elaine (Joseph) Lanham, Joe (Michele) Cox, Amber Black, Kyle Brewen, Beka (Andy) Clark, Rachel Brewen, Justin (Kea) Brewen, Nathan White, Aaron White and Christopher White; nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren along with other friends, family and church family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Masonic service held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 8, 2023, at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge from 10:00 AM until service time of 12:00 Noon with Pastor Roy Kaylor and Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Burial to follow at Hall Cemetery in French Village.
