Charles Ward Poth, 82, of Valles Mines passed away February 18, 2015. He was born May 12, 1932 in St. Louis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in which he was part of an engineering battalion stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruth (Lucas) Poth; brother, Jerry Poth. Charles is survived by his wife, Lois (Sander) Poth; four children, Gladys Poth Naeger and husband Gary, Charles Poth and wife Connie, James Poth and wife Karen, Susan Reed; six grandchildren, Corey Naeger, Christine Poth, Caitlyn Poth, Sander Poth, Daniel Reed, Jacob Reed; great-grandson, Allen Reed; sister, Ruth Grant; brother-in-law, Gary Sander. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2015 beginning at 4:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Visitation will resume Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills with the service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tristan Engle officiating. Interment will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
