Charles Rolan Sutton, known to many as “Doodle”, of Des Arc, Missouri was welcomed into Heaven on October 11, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1945, in Ironton, Missouri, to the late Robert Henry and Ruth Mae (Wilson) Sutton.
Charles was a graduate of South Iron High School. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked most of his life in sawmills and was a gifted sawyer. Charles worked for Madison County Wood Products for many years.
In 1986, Charles received his greatest calling to minister God’s word. That is something he was very proud of and not only changed his path in life, but also his family and countless others. In recent years he enjoyed visiting with his friends and sharing old stories at the Des Arc Corner Store. He loved sharing the word of Jesus and quoting the Bible to all those that would listen. Most of all, he loved the time he got to spend with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
Charles was pastor at the New Providence United Baptist Church in Fredericktown for many years. He loved to serve the Lord. He attended many revivals and witnessed for the Lord any chance he was given.
On January 6, 1968, he was united in marriage to Karion Sue Hamilton. They had been married for 52 years when she preceded him in death on January 25, 2020. They were gifted five beautiful children: Edna “Diane” Boswell (Lester) of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Jeffrey Scott Sutton of Annapolis, Missouri, Sarah LouAnne Sullivan (Robert) of Des Arc, Missouri, the late Glenn Randall Sutton, and Delbert Leroy Sutton (Angel) of Elsinore, Missouri. He was a very proud and blessed Grandpa to many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren who called him Grandpa Doo.
Charles is also survived by three brothers: Billy Kelley of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Clyde Kelley of Fredericktown, Missouri and Ray Thompson of Oklahoma, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends who will all miss him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Ruth Sutton; his loving wife, Karion; his son, Randy; three brothers: Ronnie Sutton, Leroy Sutton, and Everett Kelley; his three sisters: Shirley Hinkle, Mary Wilhelm, and Susie West; his grandson, Michael Boswell; his great granddaughter, Whitley June Bryant, and daughters; Heike King and Jessica Smith.
