Charles "Chuck" Toppins

Charles Arthur Toppins, known to everyone as “Chuck”, passed away June 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 1, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late William Arthur and Nellie “Louise” (Hamilton) Toppins. Chuck is survived by four of his loving sisters: Vivian Warren (“Bernie”) of Park Hills, Missouri, Ruth Kennedy of Malden, Missouri, Billie Edwards (John Sturgeon) of Park Hills, Missouri, and Rita Reed (Brent) of Vulcan, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Toppins. Chuck is also survived by his daughter, Andrea Toppins (Cory) of Illinois, Adam Toppins of Arnold, Missouri and his bonus son, Dalton Chilton of Piedmont, Missouri. Dalton’s children, Willa and Carson were special to Chuck. Many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends are left to mourn his passing. Chuck was a 1978 graduate of South Iron High School. Chuck’s work life included the maintenance department at ASARCO, heavy equipment operator for ISP, Naranda Aluminum Plant, and the battery plant in Bixby. In his free time Chuck loved to hunt and fish. He also loved farming, especially cattle. He was one of the “good ole’ boys” who was spoiled rotten by his Mom and sisters. Chuck went through his whole life hard and fast. Above all he loved his family, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Reed officiating. Visitation will be on Monday evening, June 10, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Meadows Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meadows Cemetery.
