Cindi Friend

Cynthia Ann “Cindi” Friend, 74, of Farmington passed away November 4, 2025. She was born November 29, 1950 to the late Garry “Smokey” Tinker and Imogene (Aschenbrenner) Tinker. Cindi worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Geoffrey Pratte for over 20 years. She then went on to work for the St. Francois County Circuit Clerk’s office, from which she retired. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book in hand. She enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, NASCAR, and both college and NFL football, rarely missing a game. She had a deep love for cats and took great joy in feeding and watching the birds that gathered in her yard. She also had a passion for collecting, finding happiness in discovering and cherishing a variety of unique collectibles over the years.

In addition to her parents, Cindi was also preceded in death by her infant son; sister-in-law, Catherine Hazen; brother-in-law, Andy Maxson.

Cindy is survived by her long time partner, Richard Maxson; sister, Brenda Knox; brother, Robert Hazen; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Medlock, Lisa (Ron) Peterson, Betsy Maxson; brothers-in-law, Michael (Diane) Maxson, Chuck (B.J) Maxson, Joe (Dian) Maxson; Nieces and nephew, Kaitlin (Dan) Willcutt, Kourtney (Anthony) Breakfield; Meghan Hazen, Noelani Hazen and Anthony Hazen; special great-niece, Kinsley Carter Breakfield.

A memorial visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
