It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clara Louise Mayberry-Ward, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Clara, age 74, departed this life peacefully on July 16, 2025, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, She was born on February 18, 1951, in Bismarck to the late William “Red” Lawrence and Hazel Irene (Bromin) Niblack. Clara was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her through life's journey.
Clara dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the nursing home industry. Her compassion and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on the lives she touched. Beyond her vocation, Clara found joy in simple pleasures—crocheting and knitting, as well as those cherished memories spent camping and fishing with her children during their youth. Music offered her solace and joy, filling her home and heart with warmth.
She leaves behind her loving family, including her sons, Terry (Tracy) Mayberry, Johnny (Kim) Mayberry, and Billy (Daphne) Mayberry grandchildren, Joe (Ashley) Mayberry, Madi Mayberry, Jennifer (Brandon) Kimbel, Katie (Ben) Calascione, Clarissa (Blake) Kimbel, Aubri Williams, Brynleigh Williams, Noah Mayberry, Chris (Sierra) Nettles, Mindy (Caleb) Crump; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Brenda Minx, Roberta “Bert” Johnson, Della “mona” Kent; aunt, Wilma Brown; several nieces, nephews, friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah “Gene” Mayberry; second husband, Donald Ward; siblings, Russell Rich, Sandy Morrison, Albert Niblack, Georgia “Wilma” Smith and Martha Pegues.
Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Pastor Dale Stringer officiating. Burial to follow at Leadwood Cemetery in Leadwood. Memorials if desired can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
