Cora Ellen Burks

It is with deep sadness that the family of Cora Ellen Burks announces her passing on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the age of 79. Born Monday, November 18, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Eva (Hipps) St. Clair.

Cora was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Festus and was a genuinely kind and selfless person. She had a large heart and was always putting others first. She truly could never say no to her family or anyone in need.

Along with her parents, Cora is preceded in death by her children, Daniel Ellis and Nancy Ellen; and brother, David Edgar St. Clair. She is survived by her children: Mary (Mike) Wolf, Suzanne (Mark) Christensen, and Dan (Terisa) Henry; grandchildren: Jon, Josh, Nikolas, Laura, Victoria, Timothy, and Austin; great-grandchildren: Luke, Carter, Matthias, Stevie Grace, Ada, Emmett, Asher, Vincent, and Baylen; and sisters, Carol (Joe) Mancil and Gail Martin. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation service will be held at Bryson Chapel on Friday, July 17, 2026, beginning at 11 AM until the service time at 1 PM. Interment will be at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park in Arcadia, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son-Bryson Chapel in Pilot Knob, Missouri.
