Cynthia Ann Rawson (Ransom) of Desloge, Missouri passed peacefully on October 25, 2025 at Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 71. After a long-fought battle with illness, her loved ones were blessed to spend her last days together. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Cindy was born to the late Harold and Helen Ransom (McDuffie) in Bonne Terre, Missouri on August 22, 1954. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Gary Rawson and her two daughters Michelle Bobbett (Chris) of Farmington, Missouri and Megan Dixon (Bryan) of Eureka, Missouri. She has four wonderful grandchildren, who were her special loves, Wyatt and Elliott Bobbett and Mira and Lila Dixon. They all enjoyed countless sleepovers, Lego builds, coloring marathons, baby dolls and My Little Ponies with their grandma. So many special memories were made at Grandma Rawson’s house – swimming afternoons, birthday parties, and Christmas cookie days. Cindy is also survived by her sister Janet Whaley (Jim) of Farmington, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. After graduating from North County High School in 1972, Cindy attended Mineral Area College, where she met Gary. Marrying in 1973, Cindy and Gary both attended Southeast Missouri State University, obtaining their teaching degrees. Cindy spent her teaching career, beginning in 1975 at West County High School in Leadwood, MO and completing at North County High School in Bonne Terre, MO in 2015. During her 40 years of teaching everything from early computer programming, math, chemistry and physics, Cindy made an enormous impact on countless students. She instilled the love of science and math in her students, allowing them to pursue a wide variety of careers. Students of hers have gone on to become doctors, nurses, pharmacists, architects, nuclear and chemical engineers, teachers and so much more. Many students have continued to stay in contact with her for years.

Cindy also had a love for music, playing the piano when she was young. During high school, she played the clarinet and received a scholarship for music to attend college. She continued to play the piano throughout the years, especially at Christmas time. All the grandkids loved to listen and watch her play. She was immensely proud of Wyatt and Elliott for following in her footstep with band, also both playing the clarinet.

For the last several years, Cindy faced multiple medical issues. Throughout all the struggles, Gary remained by her side as her constant strength, love and comfort – a true testament to their lifelong love and partnership.

Cindy was a wonderful, sweet and loving person who cared about everyone she knew. She will be so greatly missed by so many. Her wishes were to have a celebration of life which will be scheduled for the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like all to please consider a donation in Cindy’s name to Blackcat Music Association, for Fredericktown School’s Middle and High School music departments.
