Darrel Mauer

          Darrel Mauer, 83, of Farmington, passed away October 29, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born June 23, 1938, in Wahpeton, ND, to the late Edward and Viola (Hoefs) Mauer and served in the United States Coast Guard.  Darrel retired from Kroger Grocery Store after 30 years.  He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, watching Nascar or anything racing, playing on his computer and spending time with his family.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Darlene Bechtell and Diane Baxter.

          Darrel is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol (Spradlin) Mauer; children, Rick (Rita) Mauer, Vicky (Jim) Boyd, Ginger Thomure and Stephen Haynes; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Ederhoff and Denise Burchfield.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.  Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
