David D. Baker, 72, of Bismarck, passed away on May 25, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on July 7, 1953, in Fredericktown, to the late Charles Denver and Gertrude (Hale) Baker. 

David was a proud member of Teamsters Local #245 from Springfield and dedicated many years to his work as a breadman. He was also an avid fan of the Bismarck Indians, showing unwavering support for all their activities. In his free time, you could often find him fishing, hitting the golf course, or just “poppifying” everything around him—making the ordinary a lot more fun.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jeanette Baker.

David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol (McClanahan) Baker; two daughters, Melinda Dugal and husband Andrew, Rebecca Miller and husband Davey; four grandchildren, Dalton Dugal (Kennedy), Ethan Dugal (Hayley), Daven Miller (Mallorie) and Brantley Miller; three great-grandsons, Grayson, Hudson and Rowan; sisters, Janet Maurath and Debbie Lowe; nephews, Christopher Hubbell and Todd Maurath; other family members and friends, also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, May 29, 2026, from 3:00 PM until the service time of 5:00 PM. Memorials may be directed in honor of David’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Bismarck VFW.
