David "Tooter" Barton

David Arthur Barton, affectionately known as “Tooter,” passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, on his 76th birthday. Born on Friday, September 15, 1950, in Wortham, Tooter was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose lifelong contributions to his family and community will never be forgotten.

Tooter is preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Alma (Woods) Radcliff- Barton; spouse, Marsha (Hughes) Barton; son, Jamie Turner and a brother, Donald Barton.

 Tooter dedicated over 32 years to a fulfilling career at Chrysler, where his work ethic and commitment left a lasting impact. He was revered not only by his colleagues but also as a steadfast laborer in the automobile manufacturing industry. His spirit was as vibrant as the many memories he created during his lifetime. An outdoorsman at heart, Tooter cherished the simple joys of fishing at Clearwater and Woodland lakes, where he often found peace and tranquility. He also had a passion for hunting, NASCAR, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, sharing those moments with friends and family. His love for life was infectious, reflecting in the warmth he extended to all who knew him. 

He is survived by his siblings, Danny Barton, Monroe Barton, Mary Conway, Steve Barton and Janice Coffman; son, Bradley Turner, and his grandchildren: Tiffani (Justin) Ely, Nikki Williams, Ashley Turner, Julia Turner, and Zelda Turner, as well as grandson Anthony Turner; best friend, James “Toby” Young; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Adams Cemetery in Frankclay on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements under the care of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
