David Earl King, 67, of Patton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. David was born on July 23, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Jesse Levi King (Donna) of Dittmer, Missouri and the late Shirley Ann (Hand) Jackson of Fredericktown, Missouri. David was a 1975 graduate of Fredericktown High School. He completed multiple certifications that led him to work in the healthcare field in respiratory therapy. Most recently, he worked in health records (HIT) doing Cerner Support for HPG Resources in Spring Hill, Kansas. David loved life, family, and cats. He enjoyed his little farm in Patton, but also enjoyed traveling and being with people and his work family. David enjoyed all different genres of music and movies. He enjoyed people and had a great sense of humor. David never met a stranger and was truly loved by everyone he met. David was married in 2014 to his longtime partner, the late Randy Bateman. In addition to his father, David is survived by his stepchildren; Audrey Hart (Lonnie) of Farmington, Missouri, and Tom Bateman (Jessica) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, three grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by two sisters; Lisa Whitener and Sandra King, both of Fredericktown, Missouri; a half-sister, Theresa King of Hillsboro, Missouri, and five half-brothers; James “Beau” McCarver (Mary) of Anchorage, Alaska, Roger King (Paula) of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Robert King (Misty) of Edgerton, Missouri, Brian King (Tracie) of Dittmer, Missouri and James King (Leeann) of Dittmer, Missouri. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, many, many friends, and co-workers. A Memorial Service for David will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. There will be time for visiting David’s family from 4:00 p.m. prior to the service and again following the service at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel in Pilot Knob, Missouri.
