David "Butch" McClanahan

David Lynn “Butch” McClanahan, 74, of Desloge passed away June 26, 2025 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. He was born December 14, 1950 in Chandler, AZ to the late Frank Berlin McClanahan and Juanita (Lanham) Winbush. Butch proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an over the road truck driver, retiring after 38 years. He was a member of Abundant Life Family Church of Farmington. He found his greatest joy in peaceful days spent fishing and sharing special moments with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Kay (Rawson) McClanahan; granddaughter, Breanna McClanahan; brother, Darrell McClanahan; and sister, Debbie Barnhouse.

Butch is survived by his son, David McClanahan and wife Crystal; three grandchildren, Carson McClanahan, Kassie Lee and Zach Sellinger; one great-granddaughter, Georgie Ann Lee.

Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 beginning at 9:30 AM until the time of service at Noon with Pastor Rick Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home to help with expenses.
