David Samuel Ropelle

Mr. David S. Ropelle passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Parkland Health Center, in Farmington, at the age of 84 years, 7 months & 11 days. David was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Norway, Mich., & was the son of Andrew H. & Theresa 'Rosatti' Ropelle. Also preceding were: his 1st wife, Katherine (Bazan) Ropelle (1980); 2 Sisters: Eleanor VanAark & Beatrice Willihnganz.

David was: * a US ARMY/Air Force World War II Veteran; * a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farmington; * member, Farmington ELKS Lodge #1765 BPOE; * he finished his career as a foreman with Hanna Mining Co., Pilot Knob & retired after a 30-year career in 1980. * he'd previously worked for Ford Motor Co. in Iron Mountain, Mich. * he formerly served on the Farmington Library Board; * he visited all the continents & enjoyed Alaskan & Canadian fishing trips & spending time in his garden & with his family.

Survivors Include : his wife, Doris A. "Dee" Ropelle, of Farmington; 2 Daughters: Peggy Ropelle, of Farmington & Mary Beth 'Mrs. Dr. Nace' Magner, Bowling Green, KY; Sister, Lorraine Saigh, Iron River, MI., Brother: Kenneth Ropelle, of Norway, MI; Twin Grandsons: Eamonn & John Magner, of Bowling Green, KY. Long-time Carter St., friends & favorite McDonald's Coffee Buddies,(Charlie & Burr) & The Trepassos.

Visitation: Saturday, 9-11 a.m.

Funeral : Saturday, 11:00 a.m., July 28, 2007,

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Deacon Bill Greif officiating.

Interment : (private) at New Calvary Cemetery, Farmington.

Memorials : * The St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry.
