Dolores Penberthy

Dolores Anita (Forshee) Penberthy, 90, of Leadwood, passed away October 2, 2023, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington. She was born June 30, 1933, in Leadwood to the late Marvin and Lucille (Newcomb) Forshee. Dolores was a member of the First Baptist Church of Desloge. She loved playing the piano and organ and played for many years at the Leadwood Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles “Denver” Penberthy and daughter-in-law, Kathy Penberthy.

Dolores is survived by her children Charles (Donna) Penberthy, Patricia McClure, Neal Penberthy, Melanie (David) Dillard; five grandchildren, Ryan (Renee) McClure, Melissa (Ryan) Knuckles, Brandi (Brett) Arndt, Chris (Caleb) Penberthy, Megan (Dereck) Wilson; nine great-grandchildren, Brenden, Emily, Braydee, Beckett, Ava, Beritt, Hunter, Kendall, Collins; three sisters-in-law, Ilah Jean Miller, Beverly Floyd, Rita Penberthy and one brother-in-law, Donald Penberthy also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday October 4, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Visitation will resume Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Dr. Bradford Laubinger officiating. Burial will follow at Big River Cemetery in Irondale. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
