Don Lee Smith, Sr.

Don Smith, 73, of Bonne Terre, passed away November 16, 2015 at Missouri Baptist in St. Louis. He was born August 23, 1942 to the late Don Howard Smith and Willmoth (Swain) Smith-Skaggs. Don enjoyed repairing things, farming, hunting and he especially enjoyed loving his grandchildren. He attended the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Herschel Smith. Don was survived by his loving wife, LaDonna (Stevens) Smith; two children, Julie Klinkhardt and husband Matt of Farmington, Don Smith Jr. and wife Lindsey of Bonne Terre; five grandchildren, Johnathan, Madison, Gracie, Don III, and Jackson; one brother, Herman Smith of Warden, IL and two step sisters. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will resume at the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The service will begin at 12:00 PM with Rev. Larry Allison officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.
