Don Straughn

         Don "Stringer" Straughn, 83, of Ste. Genevieve was born on Friday, May 8, 1936, in Bonne Terre and passed away Friday, January 3, 2020. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1037, N.R.A., Irma Joggerst Hunting Club and a Charter Member of Ste. Genevieve Elks Lodge #2674. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer and squirrel.

         He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelton J. and Crystal M. (Turley) Straughn; loving wife, Shirley J. (Maurice) Straughn; two brothers, Roy G. and Richard L. Straughn.

         Don is survived by good friends Dick Hutson, Pete Papin, Jermy Crocker, Don Karl and Scott Hutson.

                  Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve. Memorials can be made in Don’s memory to Shriners Children’s Hospital or Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
