Donald Lewis Laut Sr., age 92 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Stockhoff Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Missouri. He was born on February 17, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Walter Valentine and Theresa Wilhelmina (Schweinsburger) Laut.
On September 16, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Harriett (Bensing) Laut, she survives in Fredericktown.
Other survivors include his children – Don Laut, Jr. (Brenda), Sandra (Jerry) Stuppy, Doug (Sherry) Laut, Sharon (Mike) East, Selma (Terry) Mascaro, Walter (Sandy) Laut all of Fredericktown; sister - Marge (Jim) Squires of Ashland, Missouri and sister-in-law - Janet Laut of Farmington, Missouri. Grandchildren - Amy (Dmitri) Thompson, Don Laut III (Michelle), Rebecca (Tony) Moyers, Jerry (Amber) Stuppy, Emily (Lucas) Carr, Missy (Derek) Smith, Becky Stuppy, Sarah (Jon) Page, Marcus (Tracey) Laut, Elizabeth (Justin) Walls, Andrew (Korrina) Laut, Alice East, David East, Ashley (Justin) Rehkop, Nicole (Andrew) Minson, Chase Laut, Seth Laut, and Dane Laut; 33 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother – William Laut, a sister & brother-in-law -Audrey and Ernie Hachmeister, and a son-in-law Randy Roux.
Don worked most of his life as a livestock farmer. He also spent 23 years as an electrician for Sears and Roebuck in Crestwood, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, watching westerns, and being outdoors.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Methodist Church in Fredericktown.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Methodist Church with Doug Laut and Pastor Bryan Schafer officiating.
Interment will be at Ashlock Cemetery near Silvermines by the family farm.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to be made to the Silvermines Community Center or Ashlock Cemetery.
