Donald Ralph Michael Jr. "Don", passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine. He was born on March 1, 1944, in Belleville, Illinois to Donald Sr. and Dorthy (Boyer) Michael.
   
  
He was married to Carolyn Sue Oakley, she survives in O'Fallon, Missouri.
   
  
Other survivors include four sisters – June Farris, Edith Williams, Connie Sanders and Shirley (Don) Carter; three brothers – Lonnie (Pam) Michael, Raymond (Debbie) Michael and Roy (Linda) Michael; one stepdaughter – Tammie Laurito and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
   
  
Don was a United States Marine Veteran; he earned several medals and accommodations such as the Good Conduct Medal w/8 stars, Meritorious Unit Citation, Letter of Appreciation, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Mast, Navy Commendation Medal w/combat "V", Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation w/Ribbon Bar, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 stars, Humanitarian Service Medal, RVMUC (Gallantry Cross Color) , RVMUC (Civil Actions Color1st Class), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Badge Rifle, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/1 star and the Navy Achievement Medal. He had worked for Falcon Foam Manufacturing Company in Perryville. He loved the outdoors and would go hiking, hunting, fishing.
   
  
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
   
  
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., also on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Thebeau officiating.
   
  
Interment will be at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Fredericktown with full military honors.
