Donald Paul "Donnie" Jones

    Donald Paul “Donnie” Jones was born June 21, 1944, at Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Paul D. and Martha Louise (Counts) Jones. He died on September 24, 2022. Don was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Desloge High School in 1962 and worked at Edmonds Electric in Desloge for 57 years. He helped to start the Desloge Community Baseball program and was an umpire on the lower field for over 20 years. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America program, holding many positions at the district level, and he was the assistant leader of troop 417 at the First United Methodist Church in Park Hills and troop 455 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Farmington. He was chairman of the Eagle Board of Review at the time of his death.

    Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Louise (Meador) Jones, as well as his parents. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Louise (Kienzle) Horne-Jones; his sister, Paula Jean Jones, and other family and friends. He will also be missed by two of his special scouts, Jared White and Houston Seaton, and all the other scouts whose life he touched.

    Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 709 S Henry Street, Farmington, MO. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation to Desloge Community Baseball, the Boy Scouts of America, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
