Donna Lynn Roper

Donna Lynn Roper, 54, of Bonne Terre, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Wednesday, October 8, 1969 to the late Donald and Vivian (Marler) Pope, Sr. in Festus Missouri.

Donna was preceded in death by her late parents, two children, Christopher, and Brandon Yates; one brother Donald Pope, Jr.

Donna lived a life filled with joy, love, and dedication to her family, animals, and community.

Donna’s passion for animals led her to volunteer at Critter Lane Petting Zoo, where she could be found caring for and nurturing various creatures. Her compassionate nature extended beyond the petting zoo as she also worked at a local pet store and pursued her passion as a skilled dog groomer. Donna had a natural knack for connecting with animals, and her gentle touch and caring demeanor made her beloved by both the pets and their owners. Aside from her love for animals, Donna had a few cherished hobbies. She enjoyed spending her leisure time playing bingo and shopping. However, her true joy came from being surrounded by her cherished family and doting on her beloved grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 10 years Paul Roper, Sr.; children, Courtney (Daniel) Thayer, Brittany (Patrick Williams) Pope, Rosie (Phil) Roper and Paul “Bubba,”Jr.; five grandchildren, Cedric, Cooper, Lincoln, Zach, and Philip “Lip”. Donna will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
