Dora Ann Hammond

Dora Ann Hammond, age 79 passed away on Monday, June5, 2023, at her home near Fredericktown, Missouri. She was born on July 16, 1943, in Appalachia, Virginia to Vernon and Beaulah Barker.

On April 23, 1960, in St. louis, Missouri she united in marriage to Jackson Lee Hammond Jr., he preceded her in death on May 31, 2021.

She is survived by her three children – James (Reta) Hammond of Farmington, Missouri, Jack III (Lisa) Hammond of Arnold, Missouri, and Judith Villmer of Farmington; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sons – Michael and Joseph Hammond, five brothers – Vernon Barker Jr., Joseph Hackney, Forrest Hackney, James Hackney and Roy Barker: three sisters – Vanessa Thrasher, Wilma Merrifield and Dorothy Collins.

Dora was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family; she was a lifetime member of the VFW in Desloge, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
