Dorothy Wood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Janette Wood, of Bonne Terre. Dorothy peacefully departed this world on May 13, 2024, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of her family at her cherished home. Born on August 11, 1935, in Elvins, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Walter and Sula Cook. A devout member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge, Dorothy found solace in her faith and shared her musical talents by playing the piano by ear. Her love for music was matched only by her love for her family.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister in-law, Linda Cook.

 Left to cherish her memory is her devoted spouse, Daniel "Gene" Wood; children, John Lee (Roberta) Province of Oklahoma and Sue Ann Marshall of California; grandchildren, Justin Marshall and Juliet (Jake) Lobato; two brothers, Ronald (Willa) Cook and Walter Dale Cook; step-children, Mary (Zindell) Scott, Susan (Eric) Schilling, James Wood and Robert (Leda) Wood; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.

 Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The visitation will resume, Sunday, May 26, 2024, at noon until service time of 2:00 PM.   Dr. Bradford Laubinger will be officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
