Dortha Marie Rogers

Mrs. Dortha Marie 'Gibbs' Rogers passed away Tuesday evening, June 19, 2012, at her Park Hills residence at the age of 84 years, 4 months & 19 days. Dortha was born January 30, 1928, at Keener Springs, Missouri, and was the daughter of Orda Asouth Gibbs and Cecil Jane Emma Ellen 'Smith' Gibbs. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, James David Rogers (Dec. 7, 2004); a brother, Kenneth Gibbs & 2 Grandsons: John Rogers & Scott Rogers.

Dortha resided in Park Hills, MO., for the past 35 years. A homemaker and a lifetime of Protestant Faith. She was known for her kindness and thoughtfulness towards others. She was an avid reader and had a great respect for books. She enjoyed reading and collecting books. She was united in marriage on August 4, 1945, in Piggott, Arkansas, to James David Rogers.

Survivors Include Six Children : Paul (& Shirley) Rogers, of Farmington; Steven Rogers, of Poplar Bluff, MO; Glenn Rogers, of Doniphan, MO; Dennis Rogers, of Poplar Bluff, MO; Debra (& Sam) Papayik, of Poplar Bluff, MO; and David Rogers, of Poplar Bluff, MO. 4 Sisters: Eula Mae Woolford, of Sacramento, CA; Pauline Kaiser, of Tuscon, AZ; Doris McQuery, of Indianapolis, IN & Martha Gibbs, of Clayton, MO. 2 Brothers: Jimmy Gibbs, of St. Louis & Orda "Junior" Gibbs, of St. Louis. Also surviving are many Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Nieces; Nephews & friends.

Funeral : Friday, 11:00 a.m., June 22, 2012

Interment follows at : Yount Memorial Cemetery - Hway 34 - Garwood, MO
