It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doyle Keith Mudge, age 89, of French Village, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at Mercy Jefferson in Festus. Born on June 28, 1937, in Flat River, Keith was the beloved son of the late George Stephen and Edith (Moore) Mudge.
Keith Mudge was a man of integrity and warmth, dedicating 40 years of his life to Raskas Foods, where he worked in Human Resources. His commitment to his work exemplified his strong work ethic, but it was his generous spirit and vibrant personality that truly defined him. He was known for his remarkable talent in woodworking; each creation he crafted was brought to life by the loving hand of his wife, Carol, who would paint his projects, making them even more special. He also enjoyed volunteering and collecting cans.
Keith cherished spending quality time with his family. In his younger years, he took great joy in coaching his children’s sports teams, instilling in them values of teamwork and dedication. A lover of the great outdoors, he found solace in nature, particularly while fishing—a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cindy Still; grandson, Christopher Miller; sister, Shirley Umfleet; two brothers, Thomas and Robert (Doris) Mudge; and one brother in-law, Robert Lee Dodson.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 67 years and 10 months, Carol DeAnne (Parks) Mudge; children, Becky Hunter and husband Bob, Shelley Berry and husband Tim, K.C. Mudge, Sr. and wife Debbie; ten grandchildren, Michael (Kitty) Mudge, Andrea (Wade) Baxter, Kimberly (Joe Hoelscher) Still, Larry (Jessica) Stuckenschneider, Chad Stuckenschneider, Carissa (Bharat) Mudge, Cortnei (Justin Davenport) Mudge, Keith “Bubba” Mudge, Jr., Timmy (Aimee) Berry, Chris (Tina Plume) Berry; twenty-three great-grandchildren; Carter, Bria, Isaac, Chrisalyn, Taylor (Zach), Riley, Logan “Bubba,” Cora, Colton, Brendan, Allison, Kaleb, Joey, Noah, Layla, Reese, Myles, Peyton, Taitum, Addalynn, Jai, Ameilya one great-great-grandson, Lincoln; sister, Imogene Dodson; son in-law, Doug Still; granddaughter in-law, Kelly Miller; sister in-law, Josephine Mudge; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume, Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM. Pastor Michael McGee will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
In his passing, Keith leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love to all who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of nature he so cherished.
