George W. Dent, Jr., passed away Dec. 4, 2007, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, at the age of 71 years, 7 months & 22 days. George was born March 12, 1936, in St. Louis, & the son of the late G. Winnett Dent & Dorothy (Bircher) Dent.
Dr. Dent was a longtime faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farmington. He served in the ARMY Medical Corps. He was a Obstetrician / Gynecologist from Jan. 1971-June 1994, at Medical Arts Clinic, Farmington. Dr. Dent was a member of: * Farmington ELKS Lodge; * Nat'l Audubon Society; * Nat'l Assoc. of Watch & Clock Collectors. He was a Nature Lover; Scholar; Gifted Musician; Artist; noted Chef; fantastic Gardener & he loved spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren. Overall, Dr. Dent was a "humble" genius.
Survivors Include: his wife, Kay (Saunders) Dent, of Farmington. 4 Daughters: Margaret C. "Peggy" Dent-Wegener & Michael Wegener, of Hamburg, Germany; Dr. Catherine L. Dent, of Cincinnatti, OH & fiance' Rick Krawczeski, of Cincinnati, OH; Susan M. Perry-Smith, of Miami, FL; & Mary Kay S. (Mrs. Jim) Obenauer, of Farmington. 1 Son: Dr. George W. (& Kathryn) Dent, III, of Leawood, KS; 1 Sister: Dr. Paula A. Dent, of Detroit, MI; 9 Grandchildren: Patrick Wegener; Ryan Perry-Smith; Andrew Obenauer; Lauren Obenauer; Anna-Paulina Wegener; Mia Dent; William Dent; Ava Obenauer & Thomas Dent.
Visitation: Thursday, 5-9 p.m. Visitation Friday morning, 7-10:30 a.m.
Funeral Mass : Friday, 11:00 a.m., December 7, 2007,
at: St. Joseph Catholic Church, Farmington, with Fr. James Dyer; Fr. Eugene Robertson & Deacon Albin Gegg officiating.
Interment at : New Calvary Cemetery, Farmington. Pallbearers were: Tom Dent, Mike Obenauer, John Grechus, Matthew Crecelius, Fred Scott, Rodney Rhodes, Dennis Boyd & Charles Chastain, IV.
Memorials to : * The St. Vincent dePaul Society; * The Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Salem, MO., &/or * The Audubon Society.
