Ed Gibson

Ed Gibson, 76, of Desloge, passed away November 12, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 12, 1938, in Elvins, to the late Monte Gentry and Beatrice (Smith) Gibson. Ed retired from Chrysler and was a member of The Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church, and UAW Local #136. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda (Beard) Gibson; two sons, DeVaughn and Richard Counts; two grandsons, Lance and Juriah Counts; and brother, Gentry Gibson. Ed is survived by two children, Bob Gibson and wife Teresa, and Andrea (Daniel) Hurt; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Lillian (Mrs. Don) Russell, Gary Gibson and wife Glenda. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Larry Allison officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
