Edgar Levi Hamblin Jr., age 90 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born on October 5, 1929 in Coldwater, Missouri, a son of Edgar Levi Sr. and Margaret Adaline (Settle) Hamblin. On May 14, 1955 in Tunica, Mississippi he was united in marriage to Virginia Berniece Sample, she survives in Fredericktown. Other survivors include: two sons – Melvin Hamblin and wife Katherine and Donald Hamblin both of Fredericktown; two daughters – Barbara Powell and Debra Lamb and husband Richard also of Fredericktown; two sisters – Thelma Lowery of Arnold, Missouri and Marilyn Stroup and husband David of Fredericktown; sister-in-law - Bruna Hamblin of Duncan, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and one sister. Edgar was a heavy equipment operator; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Coldwater Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 also at Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment will be at the Marcus Cemetery in Fredericktown. Condolences may be posted on this website.
