Edward Lee Kennedy Sr., age 80 passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home near Fredericktown, Missouri. He was born on February 1, 1937 in Mill Creek, Missouri, a son of Amon Joseph and Cella Jane (Slinkard) Kennedy. On August 31, 1996 in Fredericktown he was united in marriage to Mary Ann "Annie" Pingel who survives at the home.
Other survivors include his children - Edward Jr. (Pam) Kennedy of Pasedena, Texas, Scott (Cindy) Kennedy also of Pasedena, Renae Ely of Pearland, Texas,
Aaron (Anna) Kennedy of Farmington; two brothers - Hubert (Barbara) Kennedy of Fredericktown, Wayne (Sue) Kennedy of Arcadia, Missouri; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step children - Mike (Marsha) Morris of Patterson, Missouri, Tara (Lonnie) Johnson of Perryville, Missouri and Angel (Curtis) Boessen of Colorado Springs, Colorado and eight step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Steven Kennedy.
Edward had been a self employed truck driver for many years; he later took on the responsibility of care taker of Marcus Memorial Cemetery until health reasons forced his retirement. His hobbies were woodworking and reading; he was a member of the Mt. View Church in Marquand, Missouri and a member of the Fredericktown Masonic Lodge # 110.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown with a Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m., also on Tuesday evening.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home with internment at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown.
