Elder James George Peterman of Farmington, Missouri departed this life on January 3, 2017. James was born on June 26, 1929, son of Lewis and Mary (Laramore) Peterman. He was united in marriage to Alta Oliver on August 10, 1949 in Arkansas.
James retired from Laclede Steel Company in 1981. He enjoyed camping, fishing and talking and sharing stories. He was a handyman, who could fix or build anything and shared this skill by helping others all his life.
A member of Missionary Baptist Church, he was called to serve his Lord as a preacher and was ordained on April 26, 1981. He served as pastor of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and Pilot Knob Missionary Baptist Church. He served several times as an evangelist. James loved his family and friends and his greatest hope was that they all have accepted Christ as their Savior so he will see them once again.
