Mr. Elgin Benjamine Gilliam, of Farmington, passed away early Friday afternoon, December 4, 2015, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 89 years, 1 month & 2 days. Elgin was born on November 2, 1926, in Quaker, Missouri & was the son of Wintie Otte Gilliam and Ava Belle 'Turnbough' Gilliam. Also preceding in death were: 1 sister, Zelma Boyer & 1 brother, Almon Gilliam.
Elgin was retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation.
Survivors include: his wife, Alma Maxine 'Yount' Gilliam, of Farmington; 1 son, Steve (& Nina) Gilliam, of Caledonia and 1 sister, Delta Middleton, of Mineral Point. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews & friends.
There will be No Visitation, per Elgin's request.
Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Red Bud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Potosi, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Elgin later, in the Spring of 2016. Arangements will be posted here when available.
