Elizabeth Carolina Augusta 'Haack' Nations passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 24, 2002, at the Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. She was born on April 1, 1925, in Hamburg, Germany, to Frieda Anna Sophie Emma 'Schroder' Haack & Alfred Friedrich Carl Rudolf Haack. Elizabeth: * graduated in 1946 from Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, as a Registered Nurse; * retired after 30 years of service at the Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, MO; * was a Life Member of the Laureate Beta Chi Chapter of The Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority; * was a Board Member of the Willhaven Residential Complex, Poplar Bluff; * worked for many years for the American Cancer Society & the American Heart Association; * member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Poplar Bluff; * named 'Poplar Bluff BPW Woman-of-the Year' in 1984; * was married on Aug. 18, 1946, to Rex Nations, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington, MO., & was a resident of Poplar Bluff from 1954 - 2001. Memorials to: Willhaven Residential Complex - Poplar Bluff, MO. Survivors Include: 2 Sons - Leslie Rex (& Ruth) Nations, of O'Fallon, IL; David Warren (& Hallie) Nations, of Denver, CO; 3 Granddaughters: Stephanie (Mrs. Greg) Holten, of Columbia, IL, Jennifer & Catherine Nations, of St. Louis, MO. Great-Grandson, Connor Ross Holten, of Columbia, IL Presently, no visitation -or- services are planned.
