Mrs. Ella J. 'Novak' Hrouda passed away early Monday morning, March 5, 2007, at the St. Francois Manor, in Farmington, at the age of 96 years, 1 month & 28 days. Ella was the third of seven children & born Jan. 7, 1911, on a farm near Milligan, Nebraska. Ella was preceded-in-death by: her husband, James M. Hrouda (1980); her parents: Albert & Antonie (Kabes) Novak; 2 Brothers: Edward & Frank Novak. 1 Sister: Anna Jansky; 1 Great-Grandson: Louis C. Hrouda; 4 Brother-In-Laws: Rudolph Jansky; Roy Meyer; Otto Kottas & Linus Betka. Also, 1 Sister-In-Law: Emily Novak.

Ella, better known as "Grandma Ella" left home for Chicago to become a live-in babysitter in Dec. 1930. Prior to this she quit school to take care of her mother who she nursed for a year. Her love of children kept her babysitting for over 70 years, during which time she cared for over 150 children, usually from birth until they started school. They were all "her" children, and she maintained happy memories of all after she was forced to stop babysitting due to heart problems. She was always happy to see the families, and children who came back to visit, especially at Halloween. Rest in Peace, Grandma Ella.

Buckley) Hrouda, of Atlanta, GA; Michael G. (& Lisa Huntington) Hrouda, of Oswego, IL; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Bradley T. Hrouda; Brooke E. Hrouda; Cody A. Hrouda; James (Brandon) Hrouda; Brett A. Hrouda & Hunter J. Hrouda. 2 Great, Great-Grandchildren: Dylan M. Hrouda & Braydon Hrouda. 4 Sisters: Rose Meyer, of Hastings, NE; Jarmilla Kottas, of Milligan, NE; Angeline (Mrs. Frederick) Kottas, of Milligan, NE & Emily Betka, of Beatrice, NE; 3 God Children: Dr. George Buchal, of Waterford, WI; Marian Nielsen, of Horseshoe Bend, AR & Scott Jirousek, of Clarendon Hills, IL.

Visitation: Friday, 5-8 pm. Visitation resumes Saturday, 7:00 a.m.

Funeral : Saturday, 1:00 p.m., March 10, 2007,

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Ralph Burris officiating.

Interment : Parkview Cemetery, Farmington
