Emerick Vincent Labus

Emerick “Tex” Labus, age 97, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Maplebrook Assisted Living in Farmington, Missouri. He was born on Saturday, January 22, 1921 in Falls City, Texas to the late Stanley Francis and Mary (Banduch) Labus.  Tex proudly served the United States Navy as a Merchant Marine during the Korean War. Tex was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church and worked on the Sante Fe Railroad as an engineer.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Esther (Ritterbusch) Labus; second wife, E. Fern (Politte) Labus; step-great-grandson, Thomas W. Kater; and his siblings.

 

Tex is survived by his stepchildren from his first marriage; stepdaughter and caretaker, Charlotte Arcand; nieces and nephews, David and Sharon Robinson, Mary Alcorn, Bobby Alcorn, Kevin Alcorn, and Lydia Zunker; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Tex will be missed dearly. The family would like to thank Maplebrook and Preferred Hospice for everything they do.

 

Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 12:00 PM until service time of 1:00 PM with Pastor Charles Hendrickson officiating.  Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society or The Humane Society.
