Ernest Pinkston of Farmington entered eternal rest, at the age of 96. He was born February 14, 1929, to the late Herman and Ethel (Archambo) Pinkston.

Ernest is survived by his wife Rose Etta (Eaton) Pinkston; son, Gary Lee Pinkston and wife Jackie of Celebration, Florida; daughter, Pamela Rose Agnew of Farmington; daughter in-law, Vickie Pinkston of Farmington; cherished grandchildren, Jarred (Martine) Pinkston of Denver, Colorado, Audra (Carl) Redmond of Farmington, Natalie Maximowicz of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Lindsay (Alex) Bergoudian of Chesterfield, Ben (Rosie) Arand of Moberly, Megan (Caleb) Smith of Farmington, Courtney (Nichols) Pinkston of Fredericktown and Alex (Montana) Pinkston of Desloge; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas (Violet) Pinkston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; youngest son, Ernest Dwaine Pinkston; sisters, Jane Vaught and Geneva Grifford; brothers, William Pinkston, Fred Pinkston, Norman Pinkston, Lynn Pinkston and Raymond Pinkston.

Ernie volunteered for the US Army at 17 years old and his parents signed for him. He returned from the Army and finished his senior year of high school. He married his high school sweetheart and was married for 77 years. He started his family in Bonne Terre. He was a longtime member of the Bonne Terre Jaycees, Little League Coach and owner of a couple small businesses. In the summer of 65, he was transferred to Farmington. He became active in the Farmington Elks, served as Exulted Ruler, was an avid bowler, golfer and he enjoyed fishing.

His primary career was with Missouri Natural Gas. He served as engineering supervisor for 42 years.

A celebration of life will be held in early spring. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
