Ethel Turley Gross passed away May 10, 2022, at her residence at the age of 80. Ethel was born January 22, 1942, in Bonne Terre, and was the daughter of Alfred Dodson and Mabel Iva ‘Wigger’ Dodson. Also preceding in death were: her first husband, Ralph Turley (2013); infant daughter, Jodee and 4 brothers & 2 sisters.
Ethel was a longtime faithful, active member and Sunday School teacher of various ages of Farmington First Baptist Church. Ethel was a member of the Christian Women’s Club and former member of the Art Guild in Ste. Genevieve. She worked for Dr. Dennis for 13 years before becoming Director of Beauty Control for over 25 years. Ethel spent her spare time painting beautiful artwork.
Survivors include: her second husband, Kent Gross, of Farmington. A son, Jason Turley, of Arnold, Missouri. Three grandchildren: Paige Turley, of Farmington; Dylan Turley, of Farmington and Emersyn Gross, of Newton, Iowa. Step-Daughter, Niki (& Rob) Matthes, of Newton, Iowa. Sister, Trudy (Mrs. Don) Brown, of Farmington. Brother-in-law, Sam (& Deanna) Gross, of Davenport, Iowa; Sister-in-Law, Lynnette (& Doug) Vollers, of Marshalltown, Iowa. Daughter-in-love, Melissa (& Mark) Mills, of Farmington. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, very special friends, and a very special niece.
Visitation starts Saturday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m., at Farmington First Baptist Church and funeral services Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at Farmington First Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Private inurnment later at Three Rivers Cemetery, rural Bonne Terre, under direction of C Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home, Taylor Chapel, Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Farmington First Baptist Church, Building Fund.
