Eugene Leroy Wigger

Eugene LeRoy Wigger of Farmington passed away November 3, 2021 at his residence at the age of 94. He was born October 13, 1927 in Farmington to the late Howard and Katie (Wiles) Wigger. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Wigger in infancy and Earl Wigger.

Eugene proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Barnstable. He was a 50+-year member of Farmington Masonic Lodge #132 proud to be a 32nd degree Mason.  Eugene was a member of VFW Post 5896 in Farmington as well as a 50+ year member of The American Legion.  He retired as Postmaster of the Park Hills Post Office after 32 years of service with the US Postal Service. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and camping. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading.  His family appreciated his vast knowledge on many subjects and found him to be a great trivia partner.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Ethel Lorraine (Presson) Wigger; three children, Howard Wigger and wife Jane of Omaha, NE, Marsha Hennrich and husband Stephen of Farmington and Chris Wigger of Farmington; six grandchildren, Brian (Sara) Wigger of Omaha, NE, Alex (Daphne) Wigger of Omaha, NE, Brandon Gray (Arvan Chan) of Chesterfield, MO, Jason Moseley of St. Louis, Brooke (Clint) Thebeau of Farmington, Ryan Wigger of St. Louis; six great-grandchildren, Maya Thebeau, Maks Thebeau, Grant Wigger, Ophelia Wigger, Hazel Wigger, Rhys Wigger; brother, Howard C. Wigger of Bakersfield, CA.

There will be no formal services planned, per Eugene’s request. Memorials can be made to VFW Post 5896 in Farmington and Honor Flights.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z.
