Evan Cosgrove, 21, of Bonne Terre, passed away on September 11, 2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Born on November 18, 2004, in Farmington to Benjamin Cosgrove and Janelle Mabery, Evan was a delightful soul who touched the lives of many.
A past student of North County High School, Evan was known for his infectious laughter and his ability to bring joy to any gathering. He possessed a generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand. In his younger years, Evan enjoyed team sports with RJFL and travel baseball. His love for adventure shone through in his passion for riding ATVs and motorcycles. Many cherished memories were made at the St. Francois County Raceway and Bonne Terre Drag Strip, where his enthusiasm for racing mirrored the excitement, he brought to life.
At the heart of Evan's world was his role as a father. He poured his love and dedication into being a dad.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenna Cosgrove; grandparents, John and Jane Dawson and Linda Kinnett; great-grandparents, Charles and Pauline Dawson and special friend, Erik Caples.
Evan is survived by his son, Kyler Cosgrove and Kyler’s mother, Abigail Moore; mother, Janelle Pauline (Dawson) Mabery (James); father, Ben (Christine) Cosgrove; siblings, Emily Caples (Kellen Williams), Josie Olinger and husband Tyler, Tristian Archer, Isabella Simmons, Carson Archer, Brantley Connell, Paisley Archer, ESPN Archer, Tayn Archer, Lakeley Archer and Ackerley Archer; stepsister, Eve Mabery; grandmother, Cindy Dawson; grandparents, Dan and Melissa Mabery; niece, Stella Olinger and nephews, Weston and Jameson Stone; special friends, Kelly Caples-Zerwig and Lane Brown; aunt, Elizabeth Strikland; uncle, Lance Strickland; cousin, Heath Strickland.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be directed to “The Evan Cosgrove Benefit” fund at First State Community Bank.
